Flying into Rotterdam

Visitors who would like to fly into Rotterdam have a choice of flying into Rotterdam Airport or Amsterdam Airport (Schiphol). Rotterdam Airport is a small airport and has direct flights to London, Milan, Geneva, Hamburg, Manchester, Gerona and a few other places.

A taxi from the airport to the conference venue should cost around euro 25. There is also an airport shuttle bus (no 33) that runs every 10 minutes on most parts of the day. It costs 2.70 euro to get to the central station and takes about 20 minutes. See the Rotterdam Airport Website for more details

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has the most international connections. Trains run from Schiphol airport to Rotterdam Central Station. Direct trains run at :12 :15 and :45 every hour. Trains leaving for Leiden at :29 and :59 every hour provide connections in Leiden to Rotterdam. The whole trip takes about 50 minutes. Tickets are 10.30 euro in 2nd class and 17.50 euro in 1st class.From Rotterdam Central Station it is about 20 minutes walk to the conference venue, at the Netherlands Architecture Institute. Or take tram 4 or 7 to ‘Eendrachtsplein’.

By Train

Rotterdam Central Station is about one hour south of Amsterdam by train, and about 1:45 hour north of Bruxelles. Berlin can be reached in under 7 hours, with 1 or more changes. Frankfurt is a little over 4 hours, also no direct trains. On the Thalys, Paris is 3:09 hours away. See the international train planner for details.

By car
