Over 80 entries received; Jury to select presenters

Our call to propose a project for presentation at our conference, resulted in over 80 entries. We are very glad with this interest in Social Cities of Tomorrow. It also means that we now have the difficult task to select 10 projects from the wide variety of proposals we received, many of which were highly interesting.

To do this we have called in the help of an expert jury, consisting of Maaike Behm (ARCAM), Ingeborg van Lieshout (Bright) and Chris Sigaloff (Knowledgeland/ Kennisland). Their main criteria included the relation to the three thematic areas: open data, DIY and co-creation and sense of place; an even distribution between national and international projects, between disciplines, and finding a balance in the selection in context of our overall programme; and the individual quality of the proposal, including innovative use of new media and urgency of the urban issues addressed.

We wish to thank everyone who sent in a proposal, and will notify all of you this week. We will announce the selected projects in the first week of january.
